Edit Windows 7 Host file

I still see a lot of people that is having finding their way to be able to save Windows 7 host file.  You may see some people say, and these are those whom you would supposed to be in authority but would tell you, that it is not possible to edit the host file.

Anyway, here it is guys.  It's a rather simple thing to do.  Simply launch your notepad as Admin mode, and browse to the host file directory which most likely will be in this directory "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc" unless you changed your windows installation folder.

After opening the host file, simply hit save and voila! Your changes to the file is saved!

  1. For those who are asking how to run Notepad in admin mode... follow this step below:

One way to do it is via search box: type "notepad" and notepad.exe will appear in the list above it...

Right Click (and not left click) on Notepad and select "Run as Administrator" in the popup context menu.

    Hope this helps better!
